Climergia Receives Bronze Award for Environmental Leadership at the Environmental Awards 2024

Climergia has been honored with the Bronze Award in the Environmental Leadership category at the prestigious Environmental Awards 2024. This recognition celebrates the company’s pivotal role in the CB CARBONFREE project, a collaborative initiative with the Association of Exporters of Northern Greece (SEVE).

The project, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg V-A Greece-Bulgaria programme, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of businesses in the cross-border regions of Greece and Bulgaria and focuses on enhancing environmental awareness and integrating sustainable practices in the industrial sector and specifically to businesses located across the border between the two countries.

Spanning from April 2021 to April 2023, Climergia played a central role in implementing education and training programs to promote the Zero Carbon Protocol among industrial food enterprises in Northern Greece. These efforts aimed to: i) reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ii) incorporate circular economy principles into production processes, and iii) share best practices to foster sustainable economic development.

Climergia’s impactful contributions have not only advanced the sustainability and competitiveness of businesses but have also promoted the adoption of innovative approaches to support cohesive economic development at both regional and European levels.

This distinction highlights Climergia’s commitment and concerted efforts to implement innovative initiatives that protect the environment while promoting the sustainability of its operations and the broader community.

The award was received by Andreas Karitzis, Managing Director of Climergia, Anastasia Pappa, Operations Director, and Fontas Bakouras, Senior Sustainability Expert, at a glittering event celebrating top sustainability practices and environmental responsibility.
